Going to B&N or a coffee shop and listening to Jeffrey Thompson’s Creative Mind CD helps me a lot, seems to turn on my creative juice. Getting out of the house where responsibilities surround me helps me a lot. Also, the routine and knowing I am going to get a treat, tea or a small decaf Americano with a bit of chocolate.

Louise,
Thanks for mentioning a practice that many writers benefit from — getting away from distractions in your house. And routines and rituals like having a particulart treat when you start writing is another great idea.
