“Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.”

That’s lesson #4 in Regina Brett’s Life Lessons and a good thing to remember when you’re fighting resistance, especially perfection-induced resistance.

You know the “I can’t write that, it’ll sound stupid” or “I’ve got to get this right, right now!” thinking that freezes your creative brain. Remembering to take yourself lightly is a good way to defrost that kind of brain freeze.

Regina is right of course, no else takes you as seriously as you do and it’s usually a good idea to not take yourself too seriously. BUT…
