Shift Happens… When You’re Ready

Shift Happens When You're Ready

I’ve noticed that before a major shift occurs in the physical world, there is a shift in the mental, emotional or spiritual world.

For example, last March I had a clear sense that I was ready to move my book about the neurology of writer’s resistance into the world. I realized I was done farting around with polishing and perfecting the proposal – as I mentioned in my last post, trying to make something perfect so the recipient can’t reject it is one form of resistance I tend to use. And I was done with that.

The proposal was ready and more importantly, I was ready emotionally and mentally. Within a few weeks of this new clarity, synchronicity happened. I was at a dog agility trial, where people rarely talk about work, and a woman I’ve known for years through agility just happened to mention that she had been at a conference recently. I asked her about it and it turns out, Chris is a sales rep for a major book publisher. I said I was on the supply end of the business. We chatted about books in general, then Chris asked what I was working on and offered to pass my proposal on to appropriate editors.

I’d hoped to get a few ribbons and have a lot of fun with my dog that day; I never expected to put a book deal into motion. I’ll keep you posted, but whatever happens from here, I know put my book into motion because I made that mental and emotional shift into readiness.

This isn’t magical thinking. This isn’t “if you believe in your fantasy enough and wish hard enough, something wonderful will happen.” This is a recognition that we often (though not always) shift to a new level of readiness on the mental and emotional levels before we take the action needed to create a shift in the physical world. And it’s a recognition that when we shift our thoughts and emotions, the Divine responds with unexpected gifts of synchronicity.

So what are you ready for? What are you getting ready for?

Thanks Eileen! But you can’t lay all responsibility on my doorstep — lots of people attend classes, but not everyone shows up the way you have! You’re doing great stuff because you’re doing stuff.

Yes. I have noticed great shifts in my readiness to “put it out there” with some of my writing and other skills, because I’m ready now. Rosanne’s writing classes have always been a catalyst for “shift” in my life, and I am so excited about what I am learning (and risking) in her classes. 🙂 Eileen
