The Instant Fiction 4-day intensive workshop I’m teaching at Madeline Island School of the Arts August 16 – 20 needs more students. This will be a really fun class with lots of in-class writing to generate energy and ideas for either new material or stories and characters you’re already working with.
We’ll meet in class for half-days; the rest of the day is yours to explore the island, talk shop with other writers, read, relax, and of course, write your heart out. You’ll have plenty of methods to get you into your writing: collage-making, random generation tools, improv games, guided imagery, mind-mapping, found objects, mining “News of the Weird” and discussing what works in samples of published fiction.
